Default 98 blazer low end power loss

Hey guys,
I just recently bought a 98 LS blazer and it feels like the power in the lower RPM range is down. When starting from a stop it just feels like it lacks a lot of power until it gets up to about 3500 RPM or so. the previous owner replace the fuel pump and when i got it i changed oil, replaced plugs, and replaced the plug wires. I did a quick search and couldnt find the answer so i figured id see if anyone has had the same problem. I'm pretty new to the blazer world and is why i just joined, sorry this isnt the most formal introduction

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

I have never experienced this in any GM vehicle I have owned, but I would look for the simple stuff first:clogged air filter/air intake, dirty TBI etc. If its not throwing any codes and the fuel economy is poor as well(which it must be if you spend any time above 3500rpm) also consider dragging brakes, fouled converter or even the incorrect tire size for the vehicle,as a larger tire will effectively turn a standard GU6 3:42 rear into a possible high (but lower numerically) of even a 3:07 or worse! Do some research! Valuable info on this site! Good luck and let us know! Step66

Thanks for the tips!! I got some MAF sensor cleaner last night and tore it down, needless to say I had to Q-tip the gunk off of the sensors. After that and blasting it with the cleaner it runs like a champ now!! Can't believe the difference that made. Thanks again fro the help

Bingo- stay away from the cheap gas and use Marvel (or something similar) in your fuel and monitor intake issues on a regular basis!
