Default Aluminum Intake on S10 Vortec Blazer

I have a 1996 S10 4 dr. Blazer 4x4 built 6-06 and I want to retorque intake manifold. I posted and was sent the apporpriate info. But in checking the intake, the top half is plastic composite but the bottom of the intake in made of aluminum. I don't know if this is normal for this year Blazer but it is definately Aluminum and I would assume the torque values and steps would be maybe the same as a 1994 or 1995 Blazer. Anyone else run into this situation? Thank you

Yes, this is the stock intake configuration on the SCFI (96+) 4.3L engines.

Plastic upper plenum requiring 80inlb final pass and aluminum lower intake requiring 1st pass of 27inlb, 2nd pass of 106inlb and final pass of 11ftlb with a pattern starting at the center-most bolts and in a criss-cross pattern, moving your way to the outer-most bolts.

What is the situation you speak of...

Thank you for the info. I thought that the bottom of the intake was supposed to be thermo plastic with metal spacers and therefore the 11 ft lbs. Given bad info and thank you for the correct. I was able to check the torque on the back right driver side and it had 30 ft lb of torque on bolt. I will get new gasket set and o rings and redo the intake and torque it properly. thanks again jimbob
