Default Annoying nonstop noises

I have been having this problem with my 2000 Blazer for almost a year, but it has recently gotten to the point where it is driving me crazy. I have been getting random and intermintent blinker (or hazard light) noises for quite some time. It has recently changed to the open door chiming noise. It is almost constant and is driving me crazy. From what I understand, the blinker noise was a switch in the steering column. Would the chiming noise be caused by the same thing? I have been reading that there was a recall for the multiswitch. Could this be causing all of these weird noises? Thanks for your help!

im pretty sure its a problem with your stereo. same thing happened to me once. get in the truck, start it up, turn the volume on the stereo all the way up. this should make the noise to go away.

does the sound go away when you push on the brakes? also try slightly "jiggling" the turn signal staulk up and down and see if it changes. if it does its probably that switch (the turn signal lever).

I have tried jiggling everything, pushing on the brakes, honking the horn, punching the steering column, etc. Sometimes, it causes the noise to stop for about 5 seconds, sometimes it doesn't help at all. And turning the radio up doesn't mask the problem (it only throws off the beat of the song) nor does it fix the problem. And since it is a problem, it needs to be fixed.

^^ Ha ha... ^^

I seem to recall reading that there was an issue where the blinker keeps making the clicking sound even after the stalk returns to it's normal position. I get a delayed reaction out of mine sometimes.

It has progressed from the blinker noise pretty much nonstop to the door open chime pretty much nonstop.

the turn signal click is caused by a bad turn signal switch (multifunction switch). and for the door chime it could be a broken door jamb switch. at advance auto i think their only like $10 but i would test it before i repace it, their is on on each door.

are you sure its the door chime and not the key in the ignition chime ? if it is a problem with the steering column wiring the chime is most likely the ignition chime as it is in the same harness. if you have had the cover of the column you may have knocked the key chime switch loose.
