Any idea how to fix this door latch metal?
Here is a picture:
It's basically broken through all around the latch, and only held on by a little metal on the outside and some paint. I can wiggle it easily, and the door doesn't really close well obviously. I'm actually amazed it's still holding on.
Anyone had a latch do this?

it is caused by you door pins and bushings being bad for a LONG time. You will have to pull it off and weld in a piece of steel to fix the striker. You may also need new door hinges as im sure the pins have worn into them or drill the holes and get oversized bushings

Spot on perfect, I agree 100%. If you keep them lubed & replace the pins & bushings at the first sign of wear, that'll never happen.

Not entirely true. Ive stayed on top of my pins and bushings. Once the cracking starts, it will continue no matter what your pins and bushings look like. The holes in my hinge are still in perfect shape, yet my door latch looks the same. I change them out at any sign of misalignment of door and jamb. I also constantly check my bushings to make sure they aren't cracked.

Misalignment of the door is what gets the process started, worn pins and or bushings, (or an accident) is what causes the misalignment.
