Any known issues w/ 1998 blazers?
I m about to buy a 1998 blazer 4 door 4x4 with 98k miles for 5k usd. Is there any known issues with this model i should look out for? any advice would be a big help.

A few common Blazer problems come to mind: Ball joints, remote oil cooler lines, broken seat recline handles, door pins, fluctuating gas gauge which may indicate a failing fuel pump or sending unit, and open the radiator/overflow cap and check for any gunk or sediment as this may indicate coolant that hasn't been serviced and possibly caused internal leaking.

A few more come to mind
Leaking lower intake manifold gaskets.
Distributor gears which wear oddly and cause erratic ignition problems.
Front wheel bearing/hub assemblies. The price you pay fora replacement is directly proportional to the lifespan expected.

Rear window wiper motor failure, turn signal clicking sounds arbitrarily coming from behind the dash, strange electrical problems and below expected fuel economy.

I would look in general chat at the "annoying problems" post, that gives you most in a nutshell! I have a 98 LT myself and with all the quirks I still love the damn thing!

My opinion,,, Every car has problems, no matter what year or what kinda car or truck it is... New cars are being recalled so that right there says sumthing.. If your mechanically inclined then get it and have fun with it.. If there is problems that you come across, guaranteed theres someone here that can help out....thats what this forum is here for...If your not sure of the veh b4 purchase, take it and have it checked by your mechanic not the persons whos selling it... tip of advice.. With that being said good luck in your findings..

whats the wierd clicking noise that comes on when i use my key to unlock and open the door instead of using the key fob? Is it assosciated with the red light above my CD player? some security feature that annoys people soo much that they wont want to steal the truck?
