Default Bad shocks???

I have a 2000 4x4 LS blazer and lately I can hear some squeaking coming from what I think the left front tire area. I can hear it when I am driving straight but its not really a high pitch squeaking just sounds like something needs some wd-40 if you know what I mean. But I think it is the left front shock because it squeaks bad sometimes when I get out of the car and it bounces a little. Does anybody know if this could be a bad shock or maybe something else? Also if it is the shock that is squeaking is it something that I need to get looked at right away?

Normally if your shocks go bad you will have a very bouncy ride, when you hit a bump your truck will bounce front to back or side to side like a boat. Buy a cheap grease gun and hit up your front end for some grease. Check/Replace all sway bar bushings as these have a tendancy to rot/crack and sometimes squeak. Something might just be in need of lubrication.

Good article on lubing the front end, you want to jack up the front of the truck and support it on stands prior to greasing. They will probably all take a few pumps of the grease just keep pumping until you see the rubber starting to swell dont over-do it and break the seal. Hope this helps! Reply back

Sometimes, if you have fluid filled shocks, you can see what looks like a\n oil leak on the shock itself. You know lots of moist looking dust stuck to the body of the shock.

Thanks for the help but now I am starting to think it is something else besides a shock because when I was driving tonight it started to sound more like a rubbing sound and from the first reply my ride is not real bouncy its the same as when I bought the blazer. I have 30x9.5 Bf goodrich A/T but have never had a problem with them rubbing before and the tire doesnt look like it is worn anymore than usual. I'm guessing one of the only ways to check this is to jack up the front end and try to spin the wheel to see if it is rubbing?
