Battery keeps going dead

My electric door locks keep looking and unlocking the doors causing battery issues . I think my remote for the factory alarm is the cause of this is this possible?

If you suspect the remote, pull the battery out of it for a day or two, see if the problem persists, maybe

Also, welcome to the forum!

Remote battery

So after finally getting my alarm remote open to remove battery I discovered that a part on the little circuit board is totally broke off. So I'm thinking this is the cause for my battery dying , now next question will a aftermarket remote from Auto zone be an ideal replacement if so is programming them a process better left to the pros, and if it's not a good replacement any recommendations on where to get a good one in or around PHOENIX, AZ . THANKS for the welcoming I think my 99 blazer and I are going to enjoy this forum. Thanks guys.

Man, I know on my 95, there's like a plug up under the dash you jumper across to program remotes to the truck. I'm pretty sure it was changed by 99, but don't know more than that.

I've seen people talking about it on here about it before, you might need to do some digging

Pick up a brass battery disconnect wheel-knob. Those green ones. Walmart has them. Install it on your negative terminal and it will at least keep your battery from going dead........when you decide to leave it "open". If you are using a side terminal setup, then I guess you'll need an adaptor (a screw in "top post").

You don’t list your year but I bought my remotes off eBay and programming was easy on my 2002.

Welcome aboard! He has a 99 Blazer if I read it right...

Here is an example:

I don't endorse this choice and I don't remember who I got mine from off eBay. That said, this looks like a good source to consider. You need to double check the numbers off the back of your remotes.

Good luck,

George

Got a battery disconnect switch, put it on the negative terminal. Knife switch, need to open the hood to use it of course. Looking for a remote switch but with limited space on 04 Blazer, doesn't look like a remote will fit.
