Can't locate Blower Motor Resistor on 1998 Blazer 4x4
Help please, the manual states that teh blower motor resistor is on the firewal to the right of the blower motor...we seen the 'cut here' and opened up the space where the resistor is to be but it is not a resistor.
There is another similar looking part but it is not the same connector.

ACC has no blower resistor assy.. it's done electronically in the controls.
How about a picture of the similar looking part with the different connector?

I dont believe I've seen a blower problem on the ACC since I've been on here.. several control box fixes. Lotsa Manual htr bad resistor / hi speed relay fails
I suggest your local wrecking yards. All new can be expensive.

The part has 3 screws mounting it to the black housing - it has a wire feed out of it as well as a 2 or 3 pin connector (I see an orange wire on connector) the main wire leads include a black, brown and purple.
They both then attach to the blower motor

You want to check for 12v and ground in at approp places. Then check the purple/wht stripe for signal. OLD days, used to hook an analog high impedance meter on DC V and look for voltage variation according to Pulse width Mod change.
Might work with DVM, too.. or not.

It turns out my model did not have a resistor - it is a blower motor control module - so we replaced it and we now have air....only issue is that it blows air even while the vehicle is not running or key turned on!
From no air to constant air .... I hope there is a simple solution as pulling a fuse each time I leave the vehicle seems a little far fetched!

My guess is: change it again.

You are likely correct, as we removed the HVAC fuse and the blower stops - the speed dial does not allow us to switch the fan to 'off' - and while we have air - it could be more forceful - no real low & high.
Odd since both module and contrl (behind dash) both go at same time?
Will have to figre out a diagram - or go to dealer for the right one since the Haynes manual is not 100% accurate.

Obviously the blower will stop if you pull it's fuse. The issue is that ppl/white wire from the control

I dont understand. Is the one I posted accurate or not? It's 99 and you have 98, both are ACC.
