blazer has a exhaust leek so went to fix it to day when I got under to repair notices Ive got a hole about 1/2 inch in size in the side of the cat looks like somebody shoot it from the in side out so was wounding if I could just cut the cat of an straight pipe it back to the muffler the pipe from the cat to the muffler is all crap someone put a new muffler and tail pipe and that was all and the rest is leaking .It a 95 4.3 cpi obd 1.5 one o2 sensor at the y and the is no emission check here in tn

If there is no emission check where you are at and no 02 sensor after the converter. Rip that converter out and straight pipe it.

If there is an oxygen sensor after the cat you will likely make the check engine light come on at all times
It will also likely cause a lean or rich fuel issue

talking about removing cats on here is a no no, its a federal offense.
why remove it anyways, there really is no benefit.

emision testing is such a scam IMO
Here they have stopped measuring the emisions and now only scan for failure codes
I was mad every time I had my Honda done up until now because it was never any where near the allowed actual emisions
Now it takes them even less time to plug into the OBDII port but the cost is the same and in could be spewing smoke out the tail pipe

They don't have emission's here either but I allway's keep the cat's on the semi newer cars. If they can't be fixed then there replaceable. There in the system for a reason. Unless you don't mind your check engine light on which would bug the hell out of me.

Then replace it with a new one... removing them is a no no. Especially when spoken about on here.
