Default Changing Climate A/C Heater Control

Ok, My 99 Blazer has the electronic climate control. It is blowing hot air at every temperature setting.

I took it in to my mechanic and they put the tech II scanner on it and instead of the blend door actuator the read out says there is an intermittent signal from the climate control dial to the actuator. It only moved the blend door 1 click. His suggestion was to pick up the climate control and start there. Well a new one runs about $400 bucks! P/N 15756179 on line is a bit cheaper anywhere from $100 used to $215 new.

Has anyone Replaced one of these? What is involved? I don't mind buying one from a salvage yard or on line and putting it in. It still could end up being the actuator, but the scanner is pointing to control on the dash.

Help appreciated.
