For composite headlamps:

Remove of Disconnect:
1. Plastic Caps that cover the headlamp retaining pins.
2. Headlamp retaining pins.
3. Headlamp from the vehicle.
4. Bulbs from the headlamp by pushing in and rotating them 1/4 turn counterclockwise.

Install or connect:
1. Bulbs to the headlamp by pushing in and rotating them 1/4 turn clockwise.
2. Headlamp to the vehicle.
3. Headlamp retaining pins tightened to 62 lb.in. (7 N-m)
4. Plastic caps that cover the headlamp retaining pins.
For sealed beam headlamps:

Remove or Disconnect:
1. Screws that retain the headlamp retaining ring.
2. Headlamp retaining rings.
3. Headlamp from the vehicle.
4. Headlamp electrical connector.

Install or Connect:
1. Headlamp electrical connector.
2. Headlamp to the vehicle.
3. Headlamp retaining rings.
4. Screws that retain the headlamp retaining rings.
The '97 is one of those years that a lot of people ask questions about. If you have the composite headlamps and wouldn't mind snapping some pictures of the plastic caps and the retaining pins, I'm sure that would help out a lot of people in the future! Thanks!!

*EDIT* - Also listed in the owner's manual page 6-33 thru 6-35.
