Chevy blazer stalls in first 3 miles after removal of EBCM
Last night, I removed the EBCM from my vehicle for a rebuild. This morning my life drove it to work. After coming to a stop sign with a vehicle in of it, it stalled. She started to move it to the side of the road to and it stalled again, barely getting to the side of road. I came and it started and didn't stall at all. Drove it home and not a problem. This evening took it for a spin to see if it would stall and no problem. I have removed the negative battery cable to remove the EBCM. Would the removal of the EBCM have anything to do with the stalling? Or else, what would cause this and how could prevent this from happening again?

From what I know, the EBCM shouldn't affect engine performance. Do you have a MIL? If so, read the codes and post them here. Other than that, the only thing I can think of off hand, is maybe the computer lost its learned memory and hadn't relearned everything. It may have switched to closed loop and the parameters hadn't yet adapted to the specifics of the truck. Just a guess, but more info would definitely be helpful. Year, sub model, 2 or 4 wd, options, etc.

brown262, you were proably right that the vehicle was relearning its parameters, because after I reinstalled the module tonight, I took it for a spin and it happened again. After 2 tries and waiting it worked fine.
