Thanks Cap'n. I've never soldered before but your info is good to know. As for the odom problem, here is an update. First, coz the seller told me there is a drain on the battery, I have been disconnecting the neg connector when parked at home coz it's probably gonna sit there 2-3 days before I need it again. For laffs, I re-connected it this morning and started it up. My odom is back to showing miles again! It's at 147,616 just like it had before the switch to kilos 2 days ago. I suspect that, if I had bothered to drive it a bit, the speedo & tach would be OK too. When I first posted about my flickering PRND321 and Odom lites, I said that it did not react when hitting a bump in the road. Reading more posts led me to try rapping it with my knuckles. This worked (made the lites come back on). This info leads me to think the problem lies somewhere in the cluster and not with the Ignition Control Mod., Engine Control Mod., Body Control Mod., or the PCM (whatever this is). Do you agree?

I agree. The cluster connector is just behind the cluster lens, exactly in the middle, and it plugs in vertically to the cluster. The connector itself is, at the most, a half inch below the instrument panel pad, so when you rap on the pad, you're very close to the connector. If it makes a difference in the warning lights, that's probably the problem.

Default Conversion mi to km

Just an update on converting a cluster from US to metric. Great idea, but..... As I previously mentioned, I swapped out the dial faces from a US cluster to a Canadian cluster. Great, everything now reads metric except the odometer, or so I thought. I probably should have checked, but the speed is calibrated differently on a Canadian cluster and was reading considerably too fast. Oh well, worth a try.
