If the fuel level sending unit has an open circuit, it will indicate past full. Check the electrical connector at the fuel pump module. They have a tendency to melt and not make a good connection, which can also cause the pump not to work.

I just grabbed a '95 Blazer and am looking at replacing the pump, too. What brand should I get?

OEM? Delphi? Walbro?

AC Delco or Delphi ONLY! Unless you want problems

Stick with delphi (oem) or you will have problems down the road
