ok so i have the stock diff in my truck with a ratio of 3:43 or so the dealership tells me but i was wondering what can i change the gears to without having to replace everything i want to do a sas swap for the ifs just dont know where to start as of right now or what i need to find to do this

First figure out what axles and size tires you want. You decide you only want a dana 30 front then the ford explorer 8.8 keeps the same bolt pattern and comes with 4.11 (and disks on 95+). Also stronger than the factory 10 bolt. You decide you want a dana 44 then that 10 is already undersized and pushing the 8.8. It depends on your plans. When I done mine I swapped d30/8.8 (and now d60/d60) so I left my factory gearing in place. My first set of axles cost me $300 and 2nd set were basically free. Only ran it a year with the d30/8.8 combo and wish I would have saved that money.
