Electrical issue back hatch... HELP!!!
#21
I had the same problem with pops when shifting, unlocking door, etc... I found that my rear hatch key cylinder was all gummed up and would not turn back to center. (Vertical) That keeps part of the circuit with the neutral safety switch and door lock closed.
If you are having this problem insert key into back hatch and make sure it is NOT turned to the left or right. it needs to be straight "VERTICAL". pull key out and go give all the issues a try and see if that fixed it. If so you can either make sure when you use that back hatch key cylinder to always return it to center OR pull it out, clean it all up, put Dielectric grease on all connections to make it operate smoothly, slap it back together and THANK GOD, AIHALA, BUDAH, whomever your preference that it is fixed. (Hey, if your atheist give yourself a high five)
It was a 2 year nightmare for me. Always closing hatch b/c I have a pretty nice system in the trunk. When hatch was left poped it leaked when it rained, went to the car wash, etc... It's the thing that you would never figure was the problem
I hope this helps someone with this issue
