Default Engine haveing trouble running

Ok, I have a question and see if anyone can give me any suggestions to help. I have a 2000 Blazer 4.3. The motor is in good condition but it seems to be stalling very frequently at times. Ok I was driveing it around the block and the battery light came on and the truck stalled and lost all power. Then restarting it would be very hard and the battery light would come on and the lights would dim terribly!!! Also after being hard on the gas for a little bit and comeing to a stop the rpms will drop from being on the gas to around 400 instead of going to the 700 at idle and will require tapping of the gas to keep it running. The volt meter at times would drop down to 12-13 but tapping the gas would get it to 14 again and would remain there sometimes and then possibly drop. I swapped batteries to my other truck and the battery went dead from stalling and needed to get pulled home. Not sure if it just need a battery or not or theres possibly an alternator problem but never has a check engine light come on. Im thinking there is either the alt problem of a battery problem and not allowing power to the computer and causeing the truck to stall. Any ideas but ill deffinitally let everyone know how it is tomorrow with the new battery.

Well i took the truck around the block again and she stalled again. Its haveing a really hard time idleing when your on the gas and then let go and go to hit the brake or just get off the gas the rpms drop and sometimes increase back to idle and sometimes stall. Is there an idle sensor?

Ok well its not haveing a problem after its started anymore, I replaced the cap, wires and put in new E3 spark plugs and made one heck of a difference. But it still has some trouble starting. Sometimes she will start right up and idle good, or sometimes it will start idle to about 400rpms shake and stall or sometimes it will idle to 400 and then catch itself and idle to around 1000rpm at warm up and then go to normal 700-800. Any suggestions?
