Default is the exhaust suppose to move???

hello, I have a 95 blazer 4x4, I am just wondering if one should be able to move the exhaust pipe, mine is rattling, and I can move my tailpipe and the whole pip moves right up past the muffler...is this normal? also, I think a hanger might be broke, it looks like a "J" holding on the tail pipe, should it go all the way around or is it supposed to look like that
thank you for any info
Teresa

Sounds like you have a bad hanger, a missing rubber piece and/or a rusted out muffler on the backside where the tail pipe is welded. Have you crawled under there to see what/where the problem is?
