factory cd player issue
my in-dash factory 6-disc cd player is having some problems....
the am/fm is still fully functional, but the cd's will not play/load/eject. the 'initializing' message appears, i hear a faint click every 5-10sec, then the message disappears and it just sits there with the time on the screen and the cd icon flashing.
anyone have this problem before? any possible solutions? if not what's the best way to get my cd's out?
i do have an aftermarket sony deck sitting at home, but no mounting/wiring kit (with the closest one being in whitehorse 5hrs away, or 2-3wks mail delivery), plus i like the multiple disc functionality....
hope there's a quick fix...thanks in advance

RE: factory cd player issue
I had the very same issue..bought one of those CD-cleaning CD's,tried multiple times of cleaning to no avail.
Then i took out the player, disasembled it(many wonderful parts in there!),lightly greased all little sprockets, sliders, looked for broken cog teeth..tried everything twice!
Save yourself the hassel of tring to be handyon this project and spring for a new $99 dollar player from Canadian tire/wallmart
P.S. I had >BIG< issues trying to find a 1995 installation kit !took almost 2weeks to get that taken care of. Everything
A-ok now though.
Wallmart does sell the wire adapter kit for it, $15$
