Default Fog Light Question.

Ok, so I thought this was an easy job. On the dash is a switch for fogs & there is a relay with fuse for fog lights in the engine compartment fuse box. When I turn on the fog light switch, the switch lights up. I also found 2 connectors behind the bumper lights (L & R) & assumed they were for optional fog lights. The relay clicks when switch is activated.

Problem is there is no power coming out of the 2 terminals. Are they for the fogs or something else. If so what are these for & where do I findthe fog light wires.

that actually looks like the plug on mine that is for the stock driving lights in my front spoiler, also check to make sure that the air bag assy is plugged that also looks like that plug...theers 2 boxes on the frame behind the bumper they need to be plugged in to activate if needed..that switch may also be for day runner lights that you could turn off if needed..do you have a manual for your truck? it may show that switch in there since its a factory switch, as opposed to being an aftermarket light switch

Yah I think that is the fog lamp plug, dont know if you have the headlights on also, but for mine to work the headlights have to be on also.

That is the switch for the fog lights, it looks like the connection for the fog lights however it is not connected so of course nothing will happen. Judging by the fact that the turn signal/fog light assembly on your Blazer is aftermarket there may not be a spot to put a light bulb in for the fog lights. I know when I put my aftermarket headlights/turn/fog lights on there was only a hole for the turn signal, not the fog lights so mine are also disconnected. Eventually I will put fog lights by the tow hooks and hook them up to the factory wiring, but I don't have a job and I am also in college so yeah...

Thanks for that.

2002EXTREME - I do have an owners manual but it is one I bought off e-bay& is therefore for a USA truck. The joy of owning a Japanese American truck!!!
The switch on the dash is clearly factory fitted as it activatesa relay. However the picture on the switch shows the lines pointing straight ahead whereasin the manual the picture shows the lines pointing down. I don't know the significance of thisbutmaybe the switch on my truck is to activate/deactivate the DRL? I'll have to check that out tomorrow in daylight but I'm pretty sure thereis no DRL.
I'llcheck the air bag boxes you mention. If these are for the airbags why would they be disconnected?

portcqb - I've checked for power with & without the lights on & still no power coming through to the connectors. Perhaps I need to hook up the lights to these connectorsto create a circuit???

viper4559 - The bumper lights are aftermarket but I have fitted the fogs in the billet grille hence the red wires you see in the picture (waiting to be connected).

Yah you should be creating a circuit with the meter but there is a chance there is some resistance requirement somewhere in the circuit.

Ok. There's no power to the 2 connectors I've referred to - with or without the lights on & running a meter across does nothing.
The 2 connectors have a black & a purple wire. If these are indeed for the fog lights then I think I found why they don't work. Running a search in the Engine & Transmission section I found a thread started by cain_45 back on 9/25/2007. (sorry guy's I haven't figured out yet how to post a link to this thread) In this it was established that the BCM needsto be programmed with a VCI code.
If someone can confirm this I'll get the Chevy guy's here to set this up (if they know how!) & I'll be blazin yellowby nextweekend, they don't work Saturdays.
I'm still curious to know why the fog light switch is different to the USA trucks - see pictures.
