Default front drive shaft

I have a 2002 2dr 4x4 blazer, and i was wondering if the front short drive shaft should be spinning when in 2 wheel drive, and if it does do the front wheels make it spin.
Thanks Al

Default RE: front drive shaft

The left and right axles will spin full time of course. As for the driveshaft from the TC to the diff, I think that sincethe engagement mechanism is located on the front diff itself, the front driveshaft (from TC to diff) would not spin unless 4x4 is on. Maybe someone could confirm this, but I think that's how it goes.

sound, you are correct. The front driveshaft should not spin when in 2wd. Something is either causing the transfer case to be in 4wd or the front axle to remain engaged which is causing the front driveshaft to spin.
