Question

I have a 4wd 2000 Blazer that was running ruff and I smelled Gas. Changed plugs runs smoother but CEL still on and i still smell gas. Took to shop they said I need new spider injectors. So had a friend look at it he pulled distributor out and saw gears were worn on bottom tried to replace but got a bad part. So my ? is where on line would be the best place to get these replacement parts Injectors and Distributor? By any chance is it possible after replacing distributor i won't need injectors? Shop said #6 was leaking. Also i was reading on forum that some swap out the spider system, is that hard to do? Should I do that? The guy at shop said he wouldn't do it, I guess it's time for these repairs 137K . Hate the fact it's going to cost so much but cheaper than car payments right My friend will be doing repairs is there anything he should kno that is specific to the blazer for replacing Distributor and injectors? Thank you. Im just a chic who doesn't want to get taken>>>BEST PLACE TO ORDER PARTS is??????

I need A Distributor and Fuel injectors for my 2000 4wd blazer where is the best place to buy these also I need to get a spare key do I have to go to dealer for that? For starters you don't have fuel injectors, it's a fuel spyder assembly. Basically it's 1 fuel injector that pushes fuel through 6 tubes with an electric poppit valve at the end of each. Online I'd say try rockauto.com or jcwhitney.com. Both have lots of parts, decent if not free shipping in some cases & good pricing. Ebay for the key fob & key, get a blank key & take it with the old to get it cut.

spyder assy's. www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php

what might be yours as a replacement www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=2219260

I'd always try to stick to Delphi or GM products.

Here's the link for the distributors etc. I'm not sure if you meant the entire distributor or just the cap or the rotor kit inside. www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php

Good luck, hope this helps.

Tsk Tsk Tsk Rottidog. The '96+ SCFI engines do have 6 individual fuel injectors. The 92-95 CPI engines have one maxi-injector that feeds 6 poppet nozzles.

mlp2000, please be patient and stick to one thread for a given topic. Thanks!

My pleasure & you'll be able to find the complete assemblies for both in those links I posted in here. Hopefully there isn't much or any shavings in the engine from the worn teeth. I'd say an immediate oil change either now or after you replace the dist. It takes 2to tango & the crank may be worn as well. Here's to hoping that isn't the case.

I was looking at parts and i noticed that you can get just the distributor drive gear since that is worn out is that all i have to replace or do you recommend I get the whole unit? I have 135k mi on my blazer.

The dist. depends on you, if just the gear will work then do that. 135K miles I'd replace the whole unit if you can afford it. I'm not sure about the spyder - mpfi, but mpfi does seem to make more sence & you'll have more options, again that depends on cost as well imo.
