Fuel tank fittings -- need special hose tool?
#11
13 months??? Wow, you got a good one! Mastercraft, Airtex, Carter, Bosch and no name plain box, they all have problems with excessive noise, check valve leaks, insufficient pressure, motor quits, pump quits, flex line leaks, cheapie clamps, poor fit, fuel level sender inacurate then it quits, dash gage bounces around, cheapie pressure sensor keeps setting P0442, take your pick, if it ain't one thing, it's six others. Lifetime warranty is good though, at least you don't have to pay for another pump.... just have to keep doing the job over and over til you get a good one, which never happens. keeps you going back to the parts store, and that's what they want! Spend the extra money for a good pump, do it once and be done with it.

The Carter I got at NAPA had a 12 month gaurantee. (It actually lasted until the 14th month). As you know, I also had a problem with a Delphi pump that had the hose leak internal to the pump assembly, that unit lasted 16 months, it to had a 1 year gaurantee (also from Napa). If I would've bought a pump from AZ or Advance, I would of gotten the lifetime gaurantee, but the Mastercrafts are known to fail quite regularly.
I do not want to replace the '97 pump anymore (still have it until it dies).
