ive got a 98 chevy blazer 4 door 4x4 with the steel gas tank with a bad fuel pump...i was going to change it but when i went to let the tank down it wouldnt drop down...any ideas to why...i unhooked all the vent lines, filler necks and straps.. please let me know or give me a call and explain 803-517-8861

 

I have an 2001 and i just dropped the tank. There was one side of the tank towards the rear tire that had a bunch of lines and there was one line by itself on the other end, also im not sure if your heat sheild on the tank might be causing the problem if its bolted to the tank as well as the frame.

 

Sounds like your left strap is hung up on one of the lines. There are 3. Pressure, return and vent. If you don't have much fuel in the tank it's light enough for any one of these lines to stop the program.

 

i have the same problem as he has, you take off the two straps and two fill tubes, and the tank still doesnt drop,
it has nothing to do with the wires or hoses, the metal tanks are really stuck in there, i still havent got mine out
