Default GM NZ Can't help - can you please !!!

I imported a 98 Blazer from Japan.In Japan it had an attempted thieft.They damaged the ign lock.I bought a 2nd hand column and have installed it. I have tried all resets with the old and the newer ignition cyls.

It starts and runs for a few seconds then dies. Passlock ??
We have tried the 3 x 10 min reset. We have checked and resoldiered the loom connections.We have checked the fuses.We have tried an ajustable resistor tool on the oppropriate wires - no joy.

We got an auto sparky to check faults on his scanner - nothing.
We have since, towed it to the local GM dealer (who knows very little) and they found no faults.
We have pumped LPG directly into the mannifold, and got the motor running, so its not seized.

It definetly appears that the computer is not allowing a pulse to the injectors.

We have done pressue tests on the fuel pump, all is good there.

Short of importing a bypass kit from the USA , and which one do I buy - does ANYONE have any ideas??

The security light did go on and then off, now it just stays on (long tamper mode ??)

Please , please, please help - New Zealand is a long way for a Chevy mechanic to swim !!!

Start with Inspecting the Passlock sensor harness for intermittent or poor connections.

Way to triple post this problem. I am sorry that you are in this bind, but rules are rules. DO NOT do this again.

Sorry, being new to this type of site, I din't read up on the rules.

*Combining Consecutive Posts*

The 2 remotes I have, don't want to work either, after completing the pwoer door lock button reset process.
Are they in any way connected to the problem ??

Well, other than the fact that you have to have a passlock recognized key to properly perform the fob learn procedure...

Have you tried unplugging the RKE module (behind the DLC on the driver side hush panel under the dash) and seeing what affect that might have had?

Here are the two procedures:
PASSLOCK Reprogramming Auto Learn

IMPORTANT:

* The Body Control Module (BCM) must be programmed with the proper RPO configurations before performing learn procedures. See BCM Programming/RPO Configuration.
* If replacing the BCM with a GM Service Parts Operations (SPO) replacement part, the module will learn PASSLOCK(TM) sensor data code immediately. The existing VCM/PCM however, must learn the new fuel continue password when the BCM is replaced.
* If replacing a VCM/PCM with a GM Service Parts Operations (SPO) replacement part, after programming, these modules will learn the incoming fuel continue password immediately upon receipt of a password message. Once a password message is received, and a password is learned, a learn procedure must be performed to change this password again. A VCM/PCM which has been previously installed in another vehicle will have learned the other vehicle's fuel continue password and will require a learn procedure after programming to learn the current vehicle's password.

CONDITIONS
Use this procedure after replacing:

* Passlock(TM) Sensor
* BCM
* VCM
* PCM

30 MINUTE RE-LEARN PROCEDURE

1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
2. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON (vehicle will not start).
3. Observe the SECURITY telltale, after approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn OFF.
4. Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds .
5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 two more times for a total of 3 cycles/30 minutes (the vehicle is now ready to relearn the PASSLOCK(TM) Sensor Data Code and/or passwords on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK). IMPORTANT: The vehicle learns the PASSLOCK(TM) Sensor Data Code and/or password on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You must turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle.
6. Start the engine (the vehicle has now learned the PASSLOCK(TM) Sensor Data Code and/or password).
7. With a scan tool, clear any DTCs if desired (history DTCs will self clear after 100 ignition cycles).
