Handbrake / Parking brake help
I'm needing to tighten up the handbrake on my 2001 Blazer for it's safety inspection. Can anyone advise me on this? Thanks.

Look under the truck where the front cable connects to the 2 rear cables, there should be a nut that you have to tighten. There is also an adjustment under each rear rotor for the parking brake shoes at the bottom where the cable attaches. How loose is it? How many miles are on your truck? Korey

Primary adjustment is the park brake shoes. If the shoes are adjusted correctly, you should not have to adjust the cable.
You might need to remove the rear rotor and check for a worn parking brake shoe, adjust it and then put the rotor back on and test it.
I always ajust them so that the wheels can't be turned by hand when the brake is applied about 4 clicks, then make sure they spin free when the brake is released.
