Default Help, big problem!

Okay, so I went to start my 96 jimmy. When it was cranking I heard a huge pop that sounded like it was from under the chassis. I stopped turning the key and looked around and under to see if I blew something. Everything looked fine. I went to start it again and when it did start it shot straight to red line revving. I drove it earlier today perfectly fine, its been a little sluggish but that's because of the fuel filter, which I did try to change but wasn't able to since it was rusted. Any ideas on what it could be :/.

You prolly didnt get 'fuel pump prime' and the motor ran lean on startup. This in tern blew a vacuum line off the throttle body or manifold. Look again. You also could have split some of the ducting between the MAF sensor and throttle body. Take the MAF off and cleane it with some dedicated cleaner and inspect. Have a look at the oil pressure sensor and wiring as well as the fuel pump relay.

I wasn't able to fully get the filter off, so all I did was pull the fuse and then cranked it to deprressureize it. But once I put the fuse back on I turned it in for a couples seconds and it ran fine then
