Squealing noise coming from the engine.
I'm not sure what it is but out of the blue this morning I was woke up by this weird whining squeal around 5am. I didn't think anything of it as I'm in an RV park figured someones pump or generator had kicked on in one of the nearby units. Still hear it at 9am when I get out of bed, I go outside and its coming from my blazer.
Its not significantly loud but it has never made any noise like it before, I grab my keys start it up and it starts up fine after doing this for several hours. But I can still hear it whining when the motor is running.
Popped the hood, and disconnected the battery and it all stops. Hook the battery back up fire it back up with no problems and it starts whining again. It sounds like its coming from the drivers side of the engine but I could just be hearing it wrong.
98 blazer.
We found the problem.

Okay, just happened to get lucky. Seeing as its Father's day I had been trying to get a hold of my dad all day for well wishes and he happened to call well I was poking at things.
Turns out the starter motor is spinning but not engaging the soleniod so it wasn't contacting after the engine started running.
