How to replace driver side mirror
I have a 1996 Chevy Blazer. Sorry I don't have all the tech details. The bolts that hold the driver's side mirror have sheared off and the holes that they go into on the mirror are broken. I need to replace the mirror. I checked through the Hayes manual and the closest available Chilton's manual and neither give me the info I need. I have been searching the net but when I do find something it is just some one line comment that is completely useless.
Can anyone direct me to a resource which will show me how to remove the panel and replace the mirror?
Thank you in advance,
Tammy

If I recall correctly on a 97, two screws, one behind the door handle and one in the arm rest. a few of thoes plastic push plugs and lift out of the window track. Then the part that covers the mirror should pop off also. Two nuts in the holes and if electric, just unplug it.
Please correct me if I missed anything. Real easy, hard part is not breaking the plastic push plugs. I think they sell a sccrewdriver like tool to help remove them.

I believe you have to go at it from the inside.
1) pop out your switch panel and un hook it.
2) remove the screws and pull the inside door trim off
3) pull the window trim plastic
4) remove the bolts on the inside (should be 2 possibly 3)
5) pull the old mirror off from the outside
again, not familiar with the 96, but i'm sure it's not THAT different.

YES!!! Thank you. This is exactly what I have been searching for, though it is for a different model year than my 96 Blazer. I will check that resource for 96 Blazer and if they don't have it I will use this one as a guide.
Thank you VERY MUCH!
