Default Hub Bearing replacement question

Have had a rotating rubbing noise that varies with speed thats been getting worse for a while, sounded like it was coming from passenger side. I replaced the hub bearing with a timken unit and found when I installed it there was a lot of resistance on the 3 bolts. Is this typical? Felt like I was really forcing it.

Still have a rotating rub but is not quieter and sounds like the drivers side (alignment guys said both bearings were bad but passenger was worse).

Going to change the drivers side before this weekend hopefully. Main concern is the resistance when reinstalling the hub. Felt like the cv shaft was too long and I was forcing the hub past the splines and onto the shoulder.

If you had every thing clean maybe a hair bit of wear on splines causing a slight unseen ridge creating a drag ???? Been there seen that ....

Old hub slid off due to all the anti seize on the spline. Didn’t clean it up at all, just reinstalled. Drivers side cv is toast and will replace with the hub this week.

Both hubs and bad cv are replaced, no more noise while driving
Drivers hub was a lot easier, but at the end was still very difficult to seat the hub to the knuckle at the last 1/10 of thread. Kept thinking I was over tightening, but I could still shake the brake dust shield. Oh well took it wheeling and it went fine.
