Default Intake manifold leak

I just got word from midas saying that I have an intake manifold gasket leak to go along with a lower radiator leak, they quoted me $1000... I new there was a lower radiator leak but I couldn't locate it myself. I didn't notice any leak around the intake manifold or notice any dex on the motor or heads. I have heard that the factory does not install intake manifold gaskets and the only reason there would be one is if someone already worked on the intake manifold. I don't know if this is true but if it is and no one has worked on it already, then midas is trying to rob me. If anyone has any advice or info regarding my situation, please let me know before I drop a grand to get this fixed.

I wouldn't go to Midas if you paid me. Go to a private shop because I bet they tell you something different. PLaces like Midas tell you to do things on your vehicle all teh time when it isn't necessary.

i worked at a monro for a while...and honestly, corporate shops will stick it to you...get a few opinions...check around..then hit up midas for a price match if the intake gasket IS bad...those corporate shops are good for matching prices, and warranties on their work.
