Now on a 4.3 vortec a scanner is not needed for the distributor, just line up the timing marks and the ECM does the rest by it self.

Stop leak is not a fix, it is a bandaid. The use of such products can cause further degradation of the sealing surfaces if it actually does seal the leak which is doubtful with a LIM (lower intake manifold) leak which will then be much more difficult to seal up.

I have done a few 150k+ LIM gaskets over the years without leaks after the work was completed. The use of the updated, metal framed LIM gaskets is a must for a leak-free and lasting fix. Some have had pitting around the rear water jackets, but most just required a skim coat of RTV on the surfaces; allowing time for the RTV to cure properly, then reassembly. On one particularly bad one, I thoroughly cleaned the pitted areas and used JB Weld to fill the holes; sanding it smooth after the product cured, then went to reassembling things.

Long story short. I had the gasket changed and coolant flushed. it ran good for a while but with the 2.5" RC kit it was eating CV's and front end parts like crazy. The motor had a tick that started getting worse and i sold it at 197K. It was my first car got it at 150K and loved it but it was costing me to much to keep going as a college kid.

kc daylighters, grill guard, 2.5" rc kit, roof basket with ebay lights mounted up, 31s on camaro rims

I'm driving a 13 civic Si now so ive been out of the game for awhile. i think about that little truck all the time. i kept tabs on it after i sold it (feb 17) The mechanic i sold it to used it as a loner car for a bi,t sold it then it got rolled. I saw it out back at a towing yard in the spring of 18 checked it out but the title had been marked so it couldn't be put back on the road. it was bought by another guy unknowingly. he sold it to a father son duo. last i heard they were taking the lift kit and all the mods and transferring them over to another blazer and they were pulling the motor for rebuild to the donor. so her heart lives on but that was the last i heard and probably will hear.

Long live the S series
