Jump for trouble codes on blazer 95
I have 95 Blazer with a sticker in the front of the car that says OBDI, and an OBDII plug under the driver side dash. I want to find fault codes manually, but the only way I've heard you can do that is to jump pin 5 and 6. But on my car is only pin 2,4,5,9,16. I've read somewhere that you can jump pin 4 and 5, but both of them are ground. Is there anyone who can help me with this.

Sounds like you have obd "1.5." is your engine computer under the hood, on the passenger fender well, or under the passenger side dash? I'm not sure if you can jump codes like you can on normal obd I. I got lucky, my '95 is fully obd II.

Mine is 95 marked obd1 I still don't know if its a 1.5 or a 2. This is what I know. When I plug in my elm327 it pulls the codes fine on my laptop with obdeasy software. Before I got that rigged up autozone could pull the codes for me with the reader they use. I have the same PCM you have. I am not sure if at autozone they had to type in that it was a 96. That is what I know.

Yes that's a very nice plug. For some reason I can't open my thumbnails but from what I think I can see its a 1.5 or a 2. Take it to autozone or whoever you have in your neck of the woods and ask to have the codes pulled. They will be more then happy to pull them and sell you parts you don't need and most likley will not fix your problem. obd plug pinout - Google Search

By everything that I've heard, if it has the computer under the hood, on top of the passenger inner fender, it's fully obd 2. I have a late '95 with that computer location, and the cheap no name code reader I had couldn't read it. Whatever Autozone has, can read it. So I bought a Matco MD1022 for about $75 on eBay, and it reads the codes just fine. But when trying to inspect it, they had to do the obd 1 test (chassis dyno with an exhaust sniffer in the tailpipe) because their machine couldn't read it.
