Default Lousy ride!

I've had my '99 blazer 2 door 4x4 since it was new. First few years where great, but then started having a terrible ride. Thought I'd get shocks. Nope, shocks are fine, but you need $1400 worth of front end work. Accident waiting to happen. This was around 50k. I'm approaching 78k, and any bumbs on the road send the blazer into an epileptic fit, sometimes to the point I have to correct to avoid an accident. Verdict? Shocks are still good, just the way a blazer is. I'm getting kind of nervous lately though. A rough patch of road can make me almost loose control of the vehicle. It's bad.

Who keeps on telling you the shocks are good? If it rides like a boat, then the shocks mostlikely are not good. They can have poor rebound control and not leak. The valves inside do wear out over time.

What all did they replace in the front end for $1400? Better have replaced everything for that much. If not, they saw dollar signs when you walked in.

I would also make sure the sway bar is connected and secured properly. You've definitely got an issue....

It sounds like you have really worn out shocks and/or a broken front sway bar or links for it. Most things say shocks should be replaced by 60k, some even say 30k. If those are stock even though they look ok they probably dont move well. One of my front ones before I changed them would get stuck when compressed to a certain point and would only release when force was applied again.
