You poor thing. As mentioned before that shop is either totally dumb, or taking you for a very expensive ride. I just recently had two instances that have alot of the same issues you are having. First, random missfire. Mine was caused by a defective rotor, the spark would fire straight through the rotor.. might take the dist cap off and inspect the cap and rotor for any burns. Even a tiny burn mark can mean the spark isn't going where it's supposed to. Second, cleaning the MAF and EGR will, at a min, help with fuel economy so I would def do that. Also, try removing the two O2 sensors that are before the Cat Conv. It will be loud, but if it drives alot better it is a good sign that your Cat is clogged up. (this trick got me home from work and to the parts store to buy the new Cat when mine failed)

Angry

Hi sorry so long since update.

Things have gone from bad to worse... And i can only blame myself!!

Performance issues only got worse. Oil pressure gauge started going all over the place. So I suspected oil pressure switch was going bad. I also read this could cause some of my performance issues I've been experiencing. So I bought a new sensor... Thought I did my research!!! (this is why this is my fault). Once I got the appropriate tools getting the switch changed was that terribly difficult.

My problem comes when i put the things back together- it wont start. It tries but never turns over. I learned my mistake was when I removed the distributor cover and then shaft I didnt mark anything. So I'm 99.999% positive that i messed up the alignment when placing it back or taking it out.

I am assuming there is no easy way to fix this ... Is there?

Its a 2000 Blazer 4.3L.

Sooo Stressed Out!!

FIXED!!! Finally got the timing reset! The engine hasnt sounded this good in years! So changing the oil pressure sensor, the spark plug wires again and get the timing right seems to have fixed my issues!

Thanks to all who offered advice and guidance!
