Default Major help needed! 4x4

Recent I bought a 96 blazer and well there almost identical to the 96 jimmy, but after I went through and cleaned the truck top to bottom I found a problem!

I went to switch into 4x4 but nothing happened! Didn't engage at all. The 4x4 drive button has the the 4x4 high 4x4 low and 2 wheel drive. I pulled that button out and found out there was no cords connecting to the button!!

So my father and I tore the dash out, but no luck.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem. If so where is the cord or where did the cord, and or how difficult is it to install new cords!!

Thank you for your time, and help!

I tried the 4WD on mine before buying BTW

Any chance this is one of those dumb plugs that two plugs combine to make the one you need
