It can be done but a quite a bit of fabricating/parts to make it look stock. Don't forget, not only are you installing a center shifter but you'll have to remove your column shifter.

Unless you aren't worried about having two shifters and only one functional.

Just curious, though, why do you feel this would be better for offroading?

I seen a blaze online somwere that had an lsx conversion and they put the shifter in the cup holder. looked good though. cant you just get a column from a floor shifter truck? heck proly get the console too! sounds like a trip to the boneyard is in your future!

I. Think it better off road cause when you get stuck it is easyier to rock the ruck back and forth

Bravadas had the floor shifter as well as alot of the Jimmys/Blazers. I think all of the Blazer Extremes had them, too. I've swapped 2 S series SUVs from column shift to floor shift. It's pretty easy, tbh. There are a couple of threads on S10forum.com that explain it pretty well. Basically, you'll need the OEM floor shifter, shifter cable and console. You'll also probably want the column cover from either an SUV with the stock floor shifter or one from a 5 speed although this is for looks only (you'll have a huge hole in the column cover if you don't get the right one).

Here are a link to get you started:

Default I'll swap you

Hey I have a 98 with the floor shifter, the entire console and all. I want to do the very opposite of you and swap mine to a column shifter to have the the extra seat. Let me know if you would be interested in swapping with me.
