I can no longer start my 96 Blazer with the key. There is no crank when I turn it to the start position. I can however, start it with my remote start.

oh, this started happening the other day after I stalled while I was in 4WD backing out of a parking spot. I stalled and couldn't start with the key, only the remote start.

is there anything else it could be?

 

welp did you jam it into park when that happened or put it in neutral ? how many times have ya tried to start it by key already? I cant see an ign switch going bad just from the truck stalling.. if you htrew it into park while still rolling, you may have knocked the neutral safety switch for a loop

 

If it is the switch, would I have reverse lights or would they not work?

 

Does your RS have a starter interupt? Was the main start wire cut and spliced into the harness for the RS or was it just tapped into?

If the RS is starting the truck, it isn't a neutral safety switch problem. Sounds like it is either a problem with the ignition switch or something gone amiss with the RS itself.

 

OK, nothing wrong with the remote starter at all. disconnected and hooked everything as was originally before the RS and still no cranking.I have voltage at all the right places in the switch. I am left with my mind boggled. NO wires were cut for the RS.

 

So, i found out what was wrong. I have a RKE unit that I have never used and found out that it started going crazy. I was doing some investigating into the cause of the no crank and the unit kept clicking. I disconected the unit and everything worked just fine. Thanks for all the input.
