Interior lights staying on....
Im pretty sure the reason for this is because of an ajar door, but every time i check, every door is securely shut, including my tailgate and back window. Anybody ever have this problem? Or do they know where the sensors in the door that say if its open are?

its one of the door jam switches. mine has the problem with the passenger side rear, the front one are on the dash on the sides and the rears are mounted on the B pillar on the truck. usually if you spin it a few times (the little ****/button part) it will start working again.

The front door switches *may be* part of the door latch mechanism itself. There may be something in the ends of the dash, but they *may not* be connected to anything.

Umm, it's awful funny when I press those tabs in on the sides of the dash the dome light goes off. They are the switches.

Well, it turns out that we both may be correct... I reviewed the schematic. The passenger side is the dummy switch (or maybe just a plug). In my old '00, the drive side had the switch, but it wasn't wired into anything and there were no connectors anywhere to be found near it. The switch in the door handle/latch mechanism did it all and it worked as it should.
GM is anything but consistent in how they do this. Reading a bit more, you may have a very base model without the factory content theft monitoring which may be why your switch actually works.
Basically, if you look up at the switches in the ends of the dash and find that they are not connected to anything and there are no plugs nearby, do not be surprised!
