Is one brand of oxygen sensor better
Is there one brand of oxygen sensor that is better then the others. I was looking at what Rock Auto had to offer.
Should I stick with AC/Delco or can I use Bosch. The blazer (2000) has about 105,000 miles on it and I'm getting a 420 code? I've been getting this code very frequently. It only happens at a stop light when I at idle. The car will shudder and then the light comes on. I turn it off drive it for about a week and it will come back on at a stop light.
The O2 sensors have never been changed out, but the cat was replaced about 2 years ago with an aftermarket unit. I should have stuck with factory.
The plugs and wires have never been replaced and I just recently got a 300 code.
I thought I would replace the plugs and wires, just on miles and the O2 sensors, all three and then see what happens. The next step would be to replace the cat.
Mileage is right at 15.5 for all city driving. Highway it jumps up to around 19.

Have you tried acdelco.com? Do local parts stores not carry them? There are plenty of online sources.

yea, dont buy bosch o2 sensors, they are JUNK! Stick with AC, same with the plugs, your truck comes stock with platinum AC delco plugs which are good for 100,000 miles (or so they say). Thats al li use and havent had a problem yet.

Thanks.
Another question. I went to ACDELCO.com and looked on their site. They list the part number for the sensor as AFS105 for position 2 (pre-converter) and postion 3 (post-converter). There are no listings for position 1, which I assume is the left down pipe.
Are all of the O2 sensors the same for 2000?

Another vote for AC Delco. I have spent my time and money testing quite a few different brand new O2 sensors in GM products and very few had the activity of the AC Delco sensors. NGK came in a close second, but Bosch was at the absolute bottom of the list.
