Default P0410 - Secondary Air Injection Malfunction ?

My "Service Engine Soon" light is on and won't go away. I took my 2001 4.3L Blazer to the local Auto parts store to check the code - (P0410 - Secondary Air Injection Malfunction), the code was reset and for five minutes it was gone. Does anyone know what would cause this code ? What parts need to be replaced ? Please Help, orange light very annoying.

Have a read through some of the threads linked to below in the 'Related Threads' list. Sometimes you can dismantle the air injection pump and clean it up. Most often, you have to replace the pump and intake hose. The original intake hose is quite short and can allow water into the pump. Cold weather and water in a confined space is a bad combination. A small amount of water will just lock up the pump. Larger amounts will break things.

On a 4wd truck, the pump is located under the radiator along the passenger side frame rail. I'm not positive if this is the location for the pump on a 2wd truck.
