Default P0410B Secondary Air Injection

Hey guys need some help here. I've looked over the description of the code on this site but I'm wondering what the B stands for. Does that point me to a specific location for a part? Is there a certain part that usually fails on this system? I notice my mileage changes a pretty decent amount when the service engine light comes on with this code being the problem.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Nick

Vehicle is an 01 Blazer 4x4 LS

The AIR injection system just pumps fresh cool air into the cat to promote more complete burning of hydrocarbons and CO

Not sure what gave you a 'B' at the end of the code, but that is not included with an OBD2 code. P0410 is the code. Search the forum for what others have done to correct this code. It can get messy.

water intrusion usually is the culprit. it gets in the pump and causes it to freeze up. I would first check to see if the fuse is blown. . . it is located in a small box behind the battery toward the fender. if the large maxi fuse is blown, the pump is probably bad. use a couple of small wires to jump power and ground to the pump to see if it works. if it works and the fuse is good then u probably have a bad vacuum solenoid or a bad vacuum hse going to or from the solenoid.

so by the way it sounds this isnt a hard fix? I reset the code yesterday and got about 60 some miles before it came on. When i went to my buddies it showed the code with a B on after the 0. it then stated what it was showing being the issue
