If by Auto 4 WD you mean the 4 button unit (4Hi,4Lo,2Hi,4Auto), you need the Motor for that switch unit. Normally a New Venture Gear 136/236/246 Transfer Case; w/RPO Code NP8; Square Plug w/4 Pins & Rectangular Plug w/6 Pins.

Check your glove box for the proper Code: NP8 or NP2.

If you have 4 buttons on the 4wd switch in the dash (Auto, 2HI, 4HI, & 4LO), then you have the NV236 transfer case.

As far as determining what encoder motor you have and the number of connectors and pins, it is under your truck. Park in the grass somewhere dry and crawl underneath. It should be pretty apparent.

You need one that matches what you have. There is only one that has the 6pin & 4pin connectors on it. The other designs are for other transfer cases.

The NV136 has a single 2pin plug. The NV233 typically has the 7pin plug.
