Default Parking Brake Light

My parking brake light came on when I lowered my Blazer. A buddy of mine said his S10 did the same thing. He said it was because the body is closer to chassis causing slack to develop in the cable and thats why its on. Is this true and if so, how can I take the slack out?

Default RE: Parking Brake Light

Sorry for the slow reply but I'm not online much these days. Check under the driver side of the truck for a slack park brake cable. Between the front and rear brake cables there is an adjusting equalizer nut.
[ol]Block the front wheels.
Raise the rear axle and support the rear axle with safety stands.
Loosen the equalizer nut.
Fully release the park brake pedal.
Tighten the equalizer nut until the rear wheels will not rotate without excessive force in a forward direction.
Loosen the equalizer nut until there is little or no drag when the rear wheels are rotated in a forward direction.
Lower the vehicle.
Remove the blocks from the front wheels. [/ol]
