Default pinched knock sensor wires

So I just had some transmission work done and the idiots have the wires to my knock sensor pinched between the bell housing and the back of the motor. I'm putting out a code for the knock sensor and when inspecting found the issue. Thing is I can't take it back to the shop, its a long story but I'm involved in legal issues with them for other reasons.

Anyways, whats the best way to go about fixing it. Cutting the wires and reconnecting them and installing an extension so to say cutting out what is pinched........ or loosing the bolts to the trans and trying to pull the wires out and seeing if it works and if not, then replacing the wires?

Any help is appreciated thanks

Man loosing the tranny from the motor just to get those wires out is going to suck and having debris in that area isn't a good thing either its a lose, lose situation. But if your anything like me I would want it right so It would be loosen those eight inpossable bolts. Goodluck! Oh Yah I would'nt take those bolts all the way out if I did not have to.

If you don't get the wires out, sooner or later the flex plate will break from the misalignment. Even though it's going to suck, you should get the wires out. You should only have to loosen them.

Just wondering what is the flex plate. The reason I ask is I have one bolt in the bellhousing that I could'nt get back in and Im always wondering if its going to hert anything its the very top passenger side I know how I got it out but I be damn if its going back that way every once in a while Ill try try again but with no luck this far. My truck is on 22 inch rims and under little stress, I drove it to flordia yesterday and at 80 miles an hour I was running about 2300 RPM's. compared to my 96 thats great.
