please help aftermarket radio issue

Default please help aftermarket radio issue

im trying to install a aftermarket radio in my 2001 blzer xtreme but there is a rear support braket for the factory stereo in the way. it blocks my after market from fully going back. is there a easy way to remove it

2nd question i accedintly snapped the antanna plug thing is there a way to replace it without changing the whole antanna

That plastic bracket in the back of the stereo cavity is basically useless... when I got my aftermarket stereo at Best Buy the guy there said to just break it, which sounds brutal, but he said they have to do it atleast twice a day. So once you have the stock stereo out reach in there with some wire snips or something similiar that will cut the plastic and cut it out, just watch what your doing.
Long story short, break that thing outta there, thats what I did... less than a month ago on mine.

I used a dremel and ground it off. It helps support the factory radio, but interferes with an aftermarket...that is...if you want flush mount. You can always buy the ugly stick out ones that don't require you to remove the bracket[:'(]

I cut mine off... no need to have it stick out. Real easy. Took 1 minute.
