Default Please help a uneducated new blazer owner lol

So my fuel gauge stopped working in my 99 blazer, i removed the battery cables cause i seen somewhere that could reset it, but it didn't work. Afterwords my wife drove it to her grandmothers house and the check engine light came on......i checked fuses all is good any ideas.I will follow up on this problem.....thanks everyone!!!!!

Get the check engine code(s) read at Autozone and come back to this thread with the results.

I was on my way to Advance this morning to have the check engine light read, and it cleared halfway there and has yet to come back on after about 30 miles of driving......so is this a good thing????

It means that you have completed a GM 'drive cycle' since the last code(s) fault was transmitted. I would still take it to them and see if the code(s) were stored in the PCM memory.
