Default 4wd & other problems.

Hello there all,
I just bought a 95 Blazer, it has 170k, but it was priced right. The 4wd doesn't seems to work right. I can push the buttons and they blink a few times, then I hear a switching noise and they stay solid. I can switch to 4low and the gears do engage, just not the wheels. The 4 low light stays on too when engaged. I know the wheels aren't turning because I tried to go up a gold tailing pile, the only wheels spinning were both rear wheels. Nothing happening up front. I have read the other posts and haven't seen the procedure to trace the problem, I've read people saying they check the actuators with different vaccuum lines, which ones? How do I go about diagnosing this thing without a tool or should I take it to a mechanic and pay $100 for him to tell me a code? The check engine light came on once when I was trying out 4 low, but the next day, the light went out, and it passed smog (California) too. The power mirrors don't work, and all fuses are good. The drivers' side rear window rattles, unless cracked down a bit, a roller? When I try to squirt some washer fluid on the back window, it squirts my leg instead, lol. Oh, and I need to replace something on the rear wiper, it just makes a sound like the gears are stripped or something? While driving back from Washington State recently, it was acting like it was having a vaccuum issue, you know like it would run good, then act like it wanted to stall, only to rev up again just in time to save itself, but as soon as you gave it gas, it would run fine. Almost a little like vapor lock, but it wouldn't have passed smog with an issue like that right? The next day after I got it home, it ran as if it had never had the problem. I guess I should go through it, thoroughly, but maybe you guys can save me some time, as it is sounding more and mire like a vaccuum issue to me.

Default RE: 4wd & other problems.

Ok, I thinkI found a thread/post with the info I needed. I have to check the vaccuum at the module under my battery? Is this right? Hope this works for me. I still am wondering about the other little problems I listed above.
