Default Quick radiator line question.

2000 Blazer 4WD. Replacing water pump, radiator, and hoses. Pump is back in, hoses are clamped (mostly) and now it's time to drop in the radiator. Having a bitch of a time getting the free-spinning fittings off of the lines that connect into the back of the radiator. Not sure exactly what to use to get the pin holding them into place off. They circle the hex area of the nut and indent in three places, holding them in place. Tried needle nose pliers and lost a bit of finger flesh on a slip. How do the seasoned wrenchers of blazerforum do this seemingly simple task?

The clip has to come totally out to release the line. After the clip is out, the line pulls straight out. Easiest way to remove it is with a very small screwdriver, lift it up and pull it out with needle nose. Another option is straighten out a paper clip, then bend one end on a 90 degree angle leaving a tab about 1/8" long. Hook it under the clip and pull. Gotta pull in the center of the three "indents", the clip is open on one side to allow it to pull out. Do not reuse the clips, replace them.
