rag joint change

Wasnt there splines on the shaft were the rag joint goes? maybe thats off

i made sure the joint was on correctly, and it's not off enough to not fix via alignment. my guess is the p.o. had an alignment done with the joint slop and the steering was actually crooked when the aligned it...

Mine is the same way after replacing the joint.

I'm glad i'm not the only one! Also just replaced the transfercase vacuum switch.... what a B! My huge hands almost couldn't reach it... Replaced a bunch of vacuum hoses also.

Have you taken it to an alignment shop? Bad alignment will cause the wheel to be off center. If you replaced front end parts & didn't get it realigned then that is most likely your problem.

I had mine aligned right before i did my rag joint. and it still tracks straight as can be. im not really worried about it.

rag joint has zero effect on the alignment...

Centering of the steering wheel can be accomplished via adjusting the Tie Rod Ends which is done as part of the vehical alignment.

and as stated earlier, my alignment is good prior to the rag joint replacement... I will not pay $70 just to get my steering wheel straight
